The system, which allows total automation of cam exchange or presses, consists of sepg. the stroke change shaft into two sections, an input one to which is fixed a small pan and an output one to which is fixed a clutch, also shaped as a pan so that they are engaged through complementary teeth. The clutch pan can be displaced axially to engage or disengage with the input pan. - The clutch is spring-assisted and adjacent is a plate able to rotate on the output shaft and provdied with an electro-magnetic coil able to draw it onto the clutch until it engages with the disc itself through complementary teeth. - Incorporated in the plate is a perimeter crown through which it is driven by a redn. motor governed by a detector which controls the angular displacement between input plate and clutch, in order to achieve the necessary angular displacement of the cam switch on each change of speed and for working stroke of the press.
