This invention is about an improvement of speed increasing gear in a centrifugal compressor. This centrifugal compressor consists of an impeller, a speed increasing gear for increasing the rotational speed of the impeller and a drive for the speed increasing gear, which is positioned between the impeller and the drive and includes a shaft, attaching the impeller at the end and with a pinion, a casing body equiping with a divided face perpendicular to the shaft and a bearing unit arranged in the rear part of the shaft. The bearing unit includes a thrust collar, a inner thrust bearing, a outer thrust bearing, a radial bearing, along with a housing body a housing cover and a spacer. The bearing unit is detachable from the opposit side of the drive.
