The sewing machine control system has an on/off switch which trips a control to generate an initial speed signal and a running signal to show the machine working according to the instructions from the on/ off switch. A unit can stop the sewing machine and its drive, using a speed control, giving a second speed control signal to the drive and a stop signal to the stop unit according to the first speed control signal from the control. The duration of the running signal is registered, and these times are added together.
