A load-bearing mechanical connecting element, made of metal or a similar high-strength material, preferably for medical, dental and orthodontic applications, is so designed that the connecting element and/or the receiving element is coated with a hydrolysis-stable layer of adhesion promoter which forms a hydrolysis-stable chemical or physico-chemical compound with the material of the receiving element. To improve mechanical retention, the connecting element serving for anchoring purposes has a cylindrical stem, a symmetrically circular conical tapering towards the free end, and a symmetrically circular recess, approximately U-shaped in cross section, extending inwards from the free end, this form being selected so that it produces a reduction in tension. <IMAGE> |
