A cylindrical body portion has a first end for receiving a fore grip and a second end for receiving a rear grip. A finger recess is adjacent to the finger grip. A bore passes through the body portion for receiving a rod. The part of the bore adjacent to the finger recess has a first dia. for attachment of the rod. The bore has a portion of a second dia. greater than the first extending from the area of the finger recess to the first end. The portion of the bore forms an annular chamber extending from the finger recess to the first end when the reel seat is mounted on the rod, concentrating vibrations of the rod on the finger recess.
