Processes and devices for decontaminating contaminated soils

The invention relates to processes and devices for the extractive decontamination of clay- and loam-containing soils which are contaminated with aliphatic, aromatic and halogenated hydrocarbons. The aim is to achieve a substantial degree of removal of the contaminants from the contaminated soil by the use according to the invention of two non-miscible fluids which differ with regard to surface tension and affinity, without substantial quantities of extraction fluid remaining in the decontaminated soil and without fines, such as clay, loam or solid organic components being leached from the soil. A further objective of the soil decontamination process is the possibility of using it under demanding practice conditions without employing complicated separation devices.
