PURPOSE:To provide the title binder outstanding in adhesivity, water resistance and durability, useful in producing e.g., inorganic nonwoven fabrics, containing an aqueous resin dispersion prepared by emulsion polymerization of a polymerizable monomer using a specific reactive surfactant as the emulsifying agent. CONSTITUTION:The objective binder containing an aqueous resin dispersion which is produced by emulsion polymerization of (A) a polymerizable monomer having functional group reactive with carboxyl group and/or (B) an organosilicon monomer having in the molecule polymerizable unsaturated group and hydrolyzable group directly bonded to silicon atom. using, as an emulsifying agent, a reactive surfactant, i.e. a polymer of the formula (R1 is 6-18C alkyl; R2-R6 are each H, methyl, carboxyl carboxymethyl, etc.; X is H, ammonium group, amine salt group, alkali metal, etc.; Y is hydrocarbon group having polymerizable unsaturated group; Z is nitrile, phenylamide, etc.; a is 1-500; b is 0, 1-100; e is 0, 1-250) and/or its salt. This binder is less foamable than that produced using a low-molecular weight emulsifying agent, thus being easy to handle. |
