Arrangement of rectangular flanges, in particular for fastening thin-walled flow shrouds on pressure-tight, rectangular housings of plate heat exchangers, elastic sealing strips which are prestressed by means of screw-connections being provided between the shroud flanges and counter-flanges which are fixed to the housing. Along the outer side of the flange connection there are provided, on the upper side of the counter-flange, individual rigid bearing means for the loose bearing of the outer border of the shroud flange, whereas the sealing strip is arranged on the flange-connection inner side adjacent to the interior of the housing, the screw-connections between the bearing means and the sealing strip being provided in the vicinity of the sealing strip; see Figure 2. <IMAGE>
