The container, esp. suitable for use as a waste paper basket, has a regular polygonal tubular body of rigid material which can be plastically deformed, and a rigid sheet of thinner material shaped to form the base. At the top of the tubular part are flange portions which can be folded over, pref. outwards, to rigidise the opening.
