The gasket (13) is moulded in the fluid state and then hardened, in contact with the periphery of the glass pane (4). The hardening is carried out by activation of the plastic material of the gasket (13) by means of a high, very high or ultra-high frequency (microwave) electromagnetic radiation. The apparatus for producing the gasket (13) may comprise a plastic mould in two parts (2a, 2b) and two metallic plates (9a, 9b) each firmly attached to a part of the mould (2) coupled to a high-frequency generator (10). The glazing obtained according to the invention may comprise a gasket (13) made from a great variety of plastics or rubber. The invention makes it possible to produce glazed articles of large dimensions for motor vehicles such as windscreens or rear windows.
