The invention relates to a diamond-tipped tube drill for drilling in concrete stone, cement, brick and the like, comprising a sheet metal tube 2 having at the rear end a fastening mechanism 4 for drive members for rotating the drill and at least one inlet line for cooling liquid and at the front end a drill bit 3 with diamond segments 5, which rear sections are fastened in recesses in the tube end and front sections extend beyond the front edge 7 of the tube end, so that channels 8 are formed between the diamond segments through which the cooling liquid can pass from inside the tube and out. Between the diamond segments 5, at a distance from the front edge 7 of the tube end and at a distance from the rear edge 10 of the diamond segments there is found, inside the said channels for the cooling liquid, a kerf 9, which allows that section 11 of the tube material which is delimited by two adjacent diamond segments, the front edge 7 of the tube end and the kerf 9, to be broken off in order to deepen the said channels for the cooling liquid once the front sections of the diamond segments have worn down to a certain level, after which the drill can be used with the rear sections of the diamond segments which were initially fastened in the said recesses in the tube. <IMAGE> |
