A method of providing an authentication/authorisation of a remote client terminal (100) in a network comprising an operator gateway (108) and an operator authentication server (110), and an external gateway (112) and an external authentication (114) server, wherein a mutual authentication protocol is agreed between said authentication servers. A secured tunnel is established between the client terminal and the operator gateway using an encryption key exchange protocol, and the client terminal is authenticated and authorised in the operator authentication server. A second authentication/authorisation procedure is initiated from the client terminal towards the external authentication server using the secured tunnel. The operator gateway transforms at least one message involved in the second authentication/authorisation procedure to be in accordance with the mutual authentication protocol, and the client terminal is authenticated and authorised in the external authentication server. |
