An ampoule, made of plastic material by a blow moulding technique, has an opening for the cone (7) of a syringe (8) which is used to extract the ampoule contents. The area (6,9,10) of the ampoule neck has a shape which permits the passage of air but not of liquid, between the cone wall and the ampoule wall. ADVANTAGE - This loses no liq. even if the ampoule is upturned but it permits air to enter to replace the displaced liq.
