<p>A water-based adhesive composition, specially suited for laminating vinyl substrates to wood substrates comprising an adhesive component consisting essentially of (a) 75 to 98.5 wt% vinyl acetate-ethylene emulsion copolymer of 10-50 wt% toluene insolubles and -20 to 10 DEG C Tg, preferably prepared by the emulsion polymerization of vinyl acetate and ethylene in the presence of a suspending system consisting essentially of polyvinyl alcohol, and (b) 1.5 to 25 wt% essentially solvent-free, water dispersible polyisocyanate the adhesive component the adhesive component being dispersed in sufficient water to provide a viscosity of 1500 to 10,000 cps.</p> |
