The VTR removing noise appearing at FF node includes a first and second envelope filter (27,28) for filtering reproduced signals by two main heads and two subsidiary heads, a comparator (29) for comparing levels of two filtered singals, a switch (34) for replacing low leveled region of reproduced signals by output signals from the subsidiary heads, a controller (36) for varying delay time of a variable delay line through which a reproduced signals pass so that skew caused by replacement is removed, and a circuit for applying output signal of the comparator to the switch through a chattering remover (31) after synchronized by reproducing horizontal synchnonous signal.
