A heating plant for burning fuel, such as, in particular, coal dust, coal, gas or oil, has a combustion chamber 16 into which the fuel and an oxygen-containing gas are introduced. The heating plant works as a so-called pulsation burner in a pipe 10. The distance between a combustion chamber 16 , or a grate 18 defining the combustion chamber, from the pipe end 28 positioned upstream of the flame is approximately equal to half the distance from the pipe end 30 positioned downstream.
