<p>The steplessly-variable transmission mechanism comprises two taper drums facing opposite ways on parallel shafts, and coupled together by a belt running round them. The belt is movable in their axial direction to vary their velocity ratio by a guide. The latter is spiral in shape (4, 5), extending along the face of one or both drums (1, 2) and turning in relation to them, so as to move the belt along them.</p> |
