BALL SCREW HAVING AN AXIALLY EXTENDING BALL DEFLECTOR

The screw spindle (1) and sleeve nut (2) assembly is provided with external (1a) and internal (2a) semi-circular track grooves for the location of circulating coupling balls (5). A sleeve insert (3) in the form of a segment has internal deflector track groove profiles (3a) which produce endless track grooves for the circulating balls. Two internal end rings (4) which are secured to the nut sleeve (2) are used to retain the insert (3) and seal rings at each nut end. The two rings also provide radial location for the screw spindle (1).
