The drive shaft of the redn. gearing drive is co-axial with the first drive shaft of the torque distribution drive and attached to it. The second drive shaft of the torque distribution drive has a fixed location and is driven by a shaft connected to the main redn. gearing drive shaft. Both the redn. gear drive shaft and the first torque distribution shaft can move together to another point in the same plane as the axes of both drive shafts of the torque distribution gear drive. The axis of the gear wheel which powers the redn. gearing drive shaft is at a distance from the latter shaft and parallel to it. The axis of the gear wheel lies midway between the two shaft positions and in a plane perpendicular to the plane of the axes of the two drive shafts. USE/ADVANTAGE - The gear drive is able to power double screw extruders and the distance apart of the torque distribution shafts can be easily altered to suit a given screw spacing.
