<p>A segmented pipe coupling provides housing for e.g. a butterfly valve (14), and has opposing coupling segments (10,12) provided with oppositely angled end faces (44,46) of saw tooth configuration at the respective ends of the coupling segments, thus allowing the inclined end faces to emerge at the axial end faces of the coupling at or closely adjacent to the X-Z plane of an axially long coupling.
