To provide a light, very strong, but readily and accurately machinable material for sports equipment subject to vibratory stress, in particular skis, an alloy of, in % by weight, up to 0.15 and preferably up to 0.12 of silicon, up to 0.3 and preferably up to 0.15 of iron, 1.4 to 2.0 and preferably 1.6 to 1.8 of copper, up to 0.10 of manganese, 2.5 to 3.5 and preferably 2.6 to 2.9 of magnesium, up to 0.1 and preferably up to 0.04 of chromium, 6.8 to 7.9 and preferably 7.1 to 7.6 of zinc, 0.05 to 0.1 of titanium, 0.05 to 0.18 and preferably 0.09 to 0.15 of zirconium, the remainder being aluminium and impurities, is used. |
