The invention concerns a roll in a paper-making machine, in particular an intermediate or calender roll, which comprises a roll body 6 and a reinforced covering over the same. Around the roll body is an adhesive layer 9 and a wrapping layer 8 covering the latter, whereby the adhesive layer, together with the inner section of the cover layer, contain continuous fibre reinforcement 4 which is wound around the roll. The invention also considers a procedure for producing such a roll. <IMAGE>
