Device for vulcanising butt joints in U-shaped elastomeric gasket strip exerts horizontal and vertical pressure and can be adjusted for strips of different width and breadth. Strips can be positioned longitudinally in a clamp. Device can have a temperature controller, the vertical clamping forks can be of aluminium to save weight and can have anvil holders for different shapes. Horizontal forces are pref. applied through tightening screws on swing arms. Vertical forces are applied through tightening screws on clamping forks which engage in catches. Shaped anvils corresp. to the gasket section are fixed in holders. Heat is applied through the lower heater and transmitted by conduction to the core. USE/ADVANTAGE - Provides portable equipment for vulcanising awkwardly shaped gasket strip, especially U-section shapes with side arms. (0/1)
