The multiway socket electrical connector has a main socket strip (1) with connector blocks (2) and an overload protection switch (3). The sockets provide a connection facility for a number of parallel loads which each have three wires(5) coupled to the connector blocks. The connector blocks have a two part main housing construction with the base section being secured to the strip with contacts engaging the main conductors that connect with the power cable terminals (57). The overload protection switches have projecting pins (40) that locate in connector holes on the strip and the connector blocks.
