This tendency causes a serious problem in the case where the lower half portion of the LCD panel is driven separately from the upper half portion, because the first line of the lower half portion is positioned in the center of the whole panel. The reason why the last line data appears in the first line is that the last line data, which is continuously applied to the data electrodes during the vertical blanking term, hinders the quick changing in potential on the data electrodes in response to the first line data of the following frame. According to this invention, this disadvantage is eliminated by pre-charging the data electrodes with the data of the first line of the following frame during the vertical blanking term.
