The machine preparing folded bags for filling, has an outer mould with at least individual areas, corresp. in position to the final shape of the bag (3). An expander (2) projects into the bag initially opened at the top edge so as to spread out the flat or partly opened areas. The expander has two shapers (6, 7), which swivel about at least one horizontal axis and are designed to press from inside against the side folds (8, 9). The horizontal swivel axis (12, 13) of the expander extends parallel to the bag side face. ADVANTAGE - Mechanical bag preparation for easy filling.
