A method for etching metal plate with an acidic solution to emboss figures or letters includes (A) painting an embossed metal plate with an oily color paint using a brush to color the embossed part and depressed background, (B) impregnating finely embossed paper with a thinner, (C) rubbing the painted embossed part on the paper one time in one dirction so that the colored paint remains only on the depressed background, and (D) hardening the point by heating to a proper temperature.
