Pigment-attched fluorescent substance for color CRT is prepared by (A) attaching 0.005-1 part acrylic emulsion to 100 parts fluorescent particles to give an aqueous dispersed solution, (B) attaching 0.001-0.1 part polyvinyl alcohol to pigment particles to give an aqueous dispersed solution, (C) mixing the two dispersed solutions and adjusting pH to 7-3 by adding an acidic solution to the mixture, and (D) attaching pigment particles to the surfaces of fluorescent particles by adding 0.01-0.5 part oxalic acid as a hardening agent. The produced fluorescent substance shows a uniform attachment of pigment, a good dispersivity of particles and an excellent affinity with the composition liquid.
