An impeller body (12) comprises blades (4) and a flange (14) is welded onto these blades in order to close channels (8) delimited between them. In order to do this, a central weld bead is first formed on the upper plate of each blade by an electron beam. Next, two lateral weld beads are formed on both edges of this plate with the aid of an optical welding pencil (16).
