A method of making a shoe sole (80) including a midsole layer (40) of soft material and an outsole layer (50) having wear resistance, the two layers are fused together in a mold (10, 20) which has a mold cavity (11, 21) smaller in size than the shoe sole. When the shoe sole is removed from the mold, the shoe sole (80) is distorted due to a foaming of the midsole layer (40). The outsole layer (50) is softened and is straightened by the midsole layer so that the shoe sole is directly formed without any cutting processes. <IMAGE>
