PURPOSE:To reduce ink shake occurring due to inertia and prevent ink overflow by reducing necessary space in the horizontal scanning direction of a record head so as to make a recording device small in size and light in weight, and reducing travel speed and acceleration by shortening travel of an ink tank. CONSTITUTION:An ink tank 4 for supplying ink to a record head 1 mounted on a carriage 2 is driven by other driving source than that of the carriage 2 and is moved in the direction crossing the feeding direction of recording paper within a moving range of the carriage 2. |
