The input field is a contact plane with a command foil (8) mounted on it. The command foil has a number of command fields (16) and the contact plane has a number of contact fields. The contact fields can be freely associated with the control elements on the printing machine. The command foil can be replaced by command foils with different command fields. The contact plane together with the command foil can form a replaceable module. Each command foil has an identifying information carrier. Each command field (16) has a rim (36) around it. A movement of an object on the contact plane triggers a control function.
