PURPOSE:To produce tight attachment of a polyolefin insulative layer to an ultraviolet hardening material and make uniform the electric characteristics and anti-abrasiveness by subjecting the polyolefin insulation composition and ultraviolet hardening material to fusion consolidation by means of bridging. CONSTITUTION:A conductor 1 is covered with an extruded inner layer composition 2 consisting of polyolefin, photo-starting agent. and photo-polymerizing monomers, and this is further covered with a coating of ultraviolet hardening type 3, which is irradiated with ultraviolet rays at a temp. higher than the melting point of the polyolefin insulation composition. Thus the coating 3 is hardened, and the polyolefin and coating 3 are bridged. That is; being taken up by a takeup machine 17, the conductor 1 is paid off from a core payoff device 11, heated by a core heating device 12, and covered with the composition 2 extruded from an extruder device 13, and the resultant is further coated with the coating 3 in a coating trough 14. Then ultraviolet rays are cast for irradiation from an ultraviolet ray irradiation device 15 followed by cooling in a cooling trough 16 to yield a two-layer insulated electric wire 4 in which the electric characteristics and anti-abrasiveness are uniform in the longitudinal direction. |
