PURPOSE:To eliminate a difference in printing density depending on various recording modes to improve a printing accuracy by a method wherein the type of recording (character or image) using a recording head delivering ink is discriminated, and in accordance with the result of the discrimination, an ink delivery amount of the recording head is controlled. CONSTITUTION:Based on printing data received by a PPI 32, a CPU 33 controls an I/O controller 37 and a head controller 31 in accordance with programs and the like individually stored in a control ROM 34, a line buffer memory RAM 35, and a font generation ROM 36. As a result, various types of motors 38-40, a panel switch 41, and a recording head 2 are controlled with respect to a temperature and an ink delivery. In this case, in the CPU 33, the type of recording is discriminated, and in accordance with the type of recording, an amount of ink delivered from the recording head 2 is controlled. Namely, the temperature of the recording head 2 is adjusted so that an ink delivery amount in a character recording is larger than that in an image recording. |
