<p>The present invention discloses a method for preserving a chemical compound associated with or attached to a strong beta emitter in an aqueous solution from radiolytic degradation by adding thereto a reducing oxidizing agent, preferably ascorbate ion, as a radioprotectant. For instance, degradation of haptens radiolabelled with a strong beta emitter, such as 90Yttrium, and stored in an aqueous solution can be substantially reduced by adding ascorbate ion to the solution. A method for preventing radiolytic degradation of compounds during the radiolabelling process is also provided.</p> |
