A cyclone filter, operating according to the centrifugal principle, has filter chamber cells (1), each formed by a combination of a base plate, a cover plate and semicircular deflection channels (4) resulting from two axially-offset quarter-circle sectors with intermediate incline of walls (5). Pref. each cell (1) causes an air stream (6) to be deflected through 360 deg.. The cell (1) has adjacent inlet (7) and outlet (8) openings which are offset by the width of the deflection channel (4). The cells may be assembled as a honeycomb structure to form the filter, the inlet and outlet openings (7,8) of adjacent cells forming a flattened hexagonal cross-sectional shape. ADVANTAGE - The filter provides high sepn. rates even of very fine particles from air or other gases without causing an undesirable large pressure loss.
