Removing smell from article soiled with vomit e.g. baby clothes - by application of neutralising, sterilising and opt. deodorising compsn.

The smell is removed from articles, e.g. baby clothes, babies' toys or childen's car seats, with vomit, by mechanical removal of the vomit, and appln. of a mixt. which neutralises the acid component, sterilises the spots and opt. has a deodorising action. Pref. an alkaline, aq. soln. of NaHCO3 is used for neutralisation, methanol or ethanol (pref.) for sterilisation, and an ethereal oil, opt. in soln. in an alcohol (pref. ethanol), and opt. with other solvents, for deodourising. The compsn. contains, in 1000 ml of mixt., 25 g of NaHCO3, 100 ml of ethanol, and 10 ml of ethereal oil(s). The mixt. is contained in a foam applicator, a drop dispenser, or a propellant spray dispenser, esp. with a child-proof closure, and in amt. of not more than 50 ml.. ADVANTAGE - The method is independent of the position of the soiled article, coloured textiles are not attacked, and there is not risk to health
