摘要 PURPOSE: To enable collecting the maximum signal concerning a start which has been searched, with precision of about one side length of a pixel and the best SN ratio in a search window, by reading a detection submatrix constituted of several pixels. CONSTITUTION: An astronomical view finder 1 is provided with an objective 2, which can be regarded as the state of a pin point. The image E' of a star E which can be regarded as a union with a center O is formed on a photoelectric detector 10, which is, e.g. a charge coupled matrix arranged in the vicinity of the focus of the objective 2 and a little defocused continuously and arranged so as to cover several pixels. The energy center O' of the image E' is shown by coordinates x0 , y0 in the system of axes FX, FY which are related to the matrix 10. By obtaining x0 , y0 , the anglesαandβwhich define the searching direction O'O to the optical axis z', z of the view finder 1 can be calculate.
