Glass panel fixing

Glass panel fixing consists of a bracket (10) which is attached to the glass panel (1) by a bush (9) fitting against the surface of a hole (2) through the glass, and a cylindrical insert (4) which goes inside the bush. The insert has a flange (5) at one end and a threaded hole (6) through the middle to receive two bolts (8). The bush is compressed by the flange and a washer (7) beneath the bolt head at the other end. The flange and washer are of smaller diam. than the hole through the glass and cause the bush to squeeze outwards and lock inside the hole when the bolts are tightened. In variants of the design the bush, flange and washer can be located entirely inside the hole through the glass panel, or the bush can be expanded by a conical expansion bolt. The bush can be made from a polyamide, e.g. reinforced with glass fibres.
