PURPOSE:To express a shape being similar to a shape intended by a designer by connecting each patch a tangential plane sequence, and thereafter, controlling the internal shape of the patch by using a shape control point so as to become a state being similar to a designed shape. CONSTITUTION:By joining a patch A and a patch B, an intended shape is constituted (expressed). Thereafter, after replacement of a patch representing expression, two planes are connected by a tangential plane sequence. Also, the patches connected by the tangential plane sequence are corrected so as to become similar to the original shape. In this example, only two planes are taken notice of, but as a matter of fact, with respect to four patches being adjacent to a prescribed designated patch, the same processing is executed. In such a manner, the patches A, B are connected to the peripheral patch by the tangential plane sequence, and thereafter, by controlling a shape control point, the shape of the patches A, B is shaped so as to become similar to the original shape, and a shape intended by a designer is displayed.
