PURPOSE:To provide an electric discharge pumped laser apparatus including an opene electrode which is mountable with ease on a laser body and is capable of construction of a modified Chang type electrode. CONSTITUTION:An opene electrode 102, which comprises a punching metal 119 having its opposite ends previously bent and a mounting member 115, is mounted on an opene electrode holding part 108 by the mounting member 115 to construct a modified Chang electrode. Upon lasing, preliminary electric discharge is performed between an auxiliary electrode 103 and the opene electrode 102 both oppositely disposed putting a dielectric 104 therebetween, and then glow discharge is performed between a main electrode 101 and the opene electrode 102. Hereby, laser medium gas 106 is excited. |
