PURPOSE:To prevent over-energization to an ignition coil by completing energization to the ignition coil unless a reference position signal from a crank angle sensor is checked when a count value reaches a predetermined value at a count timing. CONSTITUTION:A crank angle sensor 101 outputs a position signal at a reference position while an internal combustion engine is rotating, and outputs a rotation angle position signal B every time it rotates for a predetermined angle. At this time, a counter 102 counts the rotation position signals, and resets a count value when a count value reaches a predetermined value at the current count timing to detect a reference position signal A. A setting means 104 sets an energization timing to an ignition coil 103 at a predetermined rotation angle position. However, when the reference position signal is not detected in spite of the count value reaching the predetermined value, energization to the ignition coil 103 is competed by a forced completion means 105. Overenergization to the ignition coil by a temporary disappearance of the reference position signal can be prevented, thereby thermal damage of the ignition coil can be prevented. |
