The clasp joining belt parts attached to safety-gear such as swimming and rescue jackets, consists of a tubular (5) hollow clasp part (3) on the end of one belt (1) and fitting detachably into a second, T-shaped clasp-part (4) on the other belt-end (2). Across the direction of pull is a slot (7) in the first belt-end. The second clasp-part has an edge fitting into the slot and with a bend or thicker part (8) sticking out from the belt plane. A catch (9,10) mounted in the hollow part prevents the clasp from sliding out. USE/ADVANTAGE - The compact clasp has no large-surfaced parts, is easily operated, and controlled when fastened and cannot be accidentally opened.
