PURPOSE:To eliminate the need of a taping process so as to reduce the cost of a composite lead frame by cutting off the leading edge section of a lead frame in which the leading edge sections of inner leads are coupled to each other with the lead frame kept fixed so that the inner leads cannot move and sticking the leading edge sections of the outer leads of a TAB tape to the leading edge sections of the inner leads. CONSTITUTION:The leading edge section 5 of a lead frame in which the leading edge sections of inner leads manufactured by etching or stamping are coupled to each other is cut off with the inner leads kept fixed by means of a pressing jig 11. When a TAB tape 6 is stuck to the inner leads, this composite lead frame 12 without tape can be manufactured. After sticking the TAB tape, the deformation of the leads can be prevented, because the leads 9 of the TAB tape are fixed by means of an insulating film 8. Therefore, the cost of this composite lead frame can be reduced, because the need of a taping process can be eliminated. |
