MAGNETOOPTIC RECORDING MEDIUM

摘要

PURPOSE: To provide a magneto-optical recording medium suitable for direct overwriting capable of executing writing and erasing by using a small external magnetic field without basing on a difficult technique of an exchange bond. CONSTITUTION: The magneto-optical recording medium has two magneto-optical layers 4, 6 having a Curie temp. difference of 0 to 25 deg.C and these magneto- optical layers are separated from each other by a metallic layer 5. Overlap magnetic domains are formed on both magneto-optical layers by the combination of the irradiation of a laser beam source and a modulation magnetic field and the magnetization directions thereof are set at an equal net orientation.
