PURPOSE:To secure focusing characteristics even for a contrastless sample image by incorporating a phase difference detection type focusing means in the binocular stereoscopic microscope. CONSTITUTION:A striped filter 37 where a striped pattern which transmits visible light, but does not transmit specific-wavelength light nearby the visible range is formed is interposed in a illumination optical system and a focusing optical system is provided with a visible-light cutting filter 49 which transmits a striped image of the specific-wavelength light; while a sample is illuminated with the visible light, a focusing is performed according to the projected striped image. |
