PURPOSE:To obtain a hair cosmetic providing hair with excellent conditioning effects such as moist feeling, flexibility, smoothness, prevention and restoration of split hair, gloss, etc., even in a dry state, not losing the effects even after shampoo several times. CONSTITUTION:A hair cosmetic containing about 0.01-50wt.%, preferably 0.01-20wt.% freeze-dried substance of egg yolk antibody (hair egg yolk antibody) obtained from eggs of domestic fowl immunized against hair such as powder prepared by grinding whole hair of healthy hair or damaged hair by permanent wave, etc., or hair constituent tissue into <=100mum, keratin protein extracted from the powder, its hydrolyzate as an antigen, in the case of use of partially purified hair egg yolk antibody or containing about 0.001-5wt.%, preferably 0.005-1wt.% in the case of use of purified hair egg yolk antibody. The cosmetic has the above-mentioned effects, provides hair with good touch, is readily prepared in a large amount and has no fear of local inflammation.
