Stamping tool for perforated ceramic substrates - perforations produced by pin in head plate of press and waste removed by pressurised air feed

The stamping tool consists of a foot plate (14), a head plate (5) and a mounting plate (6) which is recessed (21) to hold the cutting frame. A stamping section (13) is located on the footplate and surrounded by a spring-loaded (19) holding plate. Within the mounting plate is a pin,(8) which cuts a perforation when the press is operated. A compressed air feed (19) causes the cut waste material (23) to exit via a channel (20) in the foot plate. The pin head may be shaped to form an inclined entry as opposed to a vertical cut. USE/ADVANTAGE - Perforations can be cut in material which is still green and perforations formed with angled entry.
