<p>PURPOSE:To manufacture a liq. crystal display device fit for high definition TV, etc., requiring high-speed driving and high precision. CONSTITUTION:When an active matrix element for on-off control of transfer of a driving signal impressed on a liq. crystal with a gate signal impressed through a gate signal circuit 102 is formed on an insulating substrate 101 to obtain an active matrix substrate, a recess 106 with a bottom groove 107 is formed in one principal face of the substrate 101 and the gate signal circuit 102 is formed in the groove 107. An insulating layer 103 is formed on the recess 106 and a semiconductor layer 104 is further formed on the layer 103 in the recess 106.</p> |
