<p>PURPOSE:To provide a liquid crystal display device where the malfunction of a thin film transistor in an off-state which is caused by light emitted from an illuminating device is avoided even when the illuminance of back illumination is high. CONSTITUTION:Many thin film transistors 13 are provided on the surface, where the liquid crystal 10 is arranged, of a transparent plate 12 on a side where the light made incident from an illuminating device side is radiated out of the transparent plates 11, 12 between which the liquid crystal 10 of a liquid crystal display element 6 is held. Thus, the light does not pass through the liquid crystal at a part where the thin film transistor 13 is in the off-state, and the thin film transistor 13 in the off-state is not irradiated with the strong light from the illuminating device, so that the thin film transistor 13 is not turned on by the malfunction.</p> |
